Despite their inherent deliciousness, tater tots are an inferior ketchup vehicle when compared with fries.
But I just love ordering tater tots at a serious engineering cafeteria.
Discuss.

Tater tots are the shit. If you're in an engineering building, why not engineer a better tot? A super tot or some shit.

I still have 3 hours before lunch time.

waffle fries?

mmm, tots

Seasoned curly fries, but those are rad also. Waffle fries are just perfect for heavy ketchup scooping :] But some are just flavorless. I GOT IT!, seasoned waffle fries!

You are wrong and that makes you a bad person.

Tots are engineered potatoes and superior to straight cut fries. Just like OSB is a stronger cheaper alternative to plywood. You need to engineer a better ketchup application system to keep up with the advanced potatoes.

seasoned waffle fires, mutha fucka I thought I created something. It's like DVD's all over again >:(
![]() 02/04/2014 at 11:52 |

why do you need ketchup? I only use them as a mayonaise vehicle anyhow, and tots are superior due to surface area and texture foo
mmm dat mayo

but osb looks like shit and fails in wet conditions. Tots are great by themselves, but fall down when sauce application and delivery enter into your usage scenario.

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaalse. The extra crispiness covers up that bleh potato taste. Also, chili cheese tots > all other things made with potato, ever.
Fries either have to be super-battery, spiced curly fries of the stringiest of the shoestrings for me to touch 'em.
I'm really not a potato person.

those aren't tots. those are some sort of tater disk/nugget.

blasphemy

tots have less surface area per amount of potato. I agree on texture though.

Whoooooa whoa whoa. You can't just bring chili cheese tots into this discussion. That is a totally different matter.

You are correct, that's why they should be covered in chili and cheese rather than the inferior condiment that is ketchup.

Dat cube/square law. Would this declare potato chips as the end-all-be-all ketchup vehicle, considering only surface area to volume?
![]() 02/04/2014 at 12:01 |

perhaps, but they didn't have chili cheese in my cafeteria today. Now I am sad for what could have been.

pretty much. I've done it. I just can't abide the chips in my cafeteria. they fry them way too long.

Tots are the perfect food. It just is.

This discussion is making me rethink my decision to not go foodstuff-acquiring today. They sell Arby's fries at walmart, you know. And tater tots. And waffle fries. And ketchup, though I have that already.

ever try the heinz organic ketchup? It is actually slightly better. You know what would be good after eating all those tots?....... a milkshake. mmmm, I want a milkshake now.

Make the tots more crispy. Problem solved. If they aren't just the right amount of crisp thy will fail under the sauce application.
![]() 02/04/2014 at 12:28 |

OSB, like tots, are not good looking, but when used in the proper application are mini marvels of engineering. I maintain a reevaluation of sauce application timing is needed for this discussion to proceed further.

They still exist!??? I thought McCain only did them back in the 80's.

Oh, I went there. I went there, all right.
Chipotle mayo is still the greatest non-warm-and-spicy French fry topping of all time, though. Of all time!
